Why train with us
A practice-based, research-informed route built around your subject
We deliver a package of training that makes the most of your knowledge and skills, with outstanding practitioners, mentors and students across a diverse range of schools and settings.
You work alongside outstanding teachers from the start, reaching your potential in your new career.
On average, over 90% of our trainees become teachers, helping fill the 500 teaching vacancies our local partners needs every year.
You will gain Qualified Teacher Status and a Masters level PGCE at the same time, awarded by Sheffield Hallam University.
Your training is underpinned by research from Bradford’s Centre for Applied Educational Research.
Significant tax-free funding is available in priority subjects to support your training year.
Becoming a teacher can be challenging, so we support your wellbeing throughout the training year.
What the year looks like
From your first week to Qualified Teacher Status
On our school-centred course you are immersed in schools for the whole year, with the support of a personal tutor and a school-based mentor every step of the way.
Straight into the classroom
Within the first week you start your placement, around 3 to 4 days a week, in your identified Bradford school.
Subject-focused training
For the rest of the week you join taught sessions in schools across Bradford that sharpen your subject teaching.
Mentored throughout
Your tutor and mentor have years, often decades, of experience and give you focused, relevant guidance as your confidence grows.
Recommended for QTS
After a successful training year you are recommended for Qualified Teacher Status, with continuing professional development well beyond your first year.
